Difference between these 2 Intel CPUs?

First of all, here are the links of the 2 CPUs that I'm looking at:

Is there any difference in these 2 CPUs other than the 0.2GHz difference (either small or big) and the one being a newer model?

They are both 'equally' new. Main difference is the clocks and price. If you are doing a pure gaming build then maximum overkill should be limited to an i7-6700K (highest clocks of any consumer Intel chip) and 4 cores is all you need for gaming. 6 cores are mostly only useful for things like gaming while 1080p streaming.

6850k has more pci-e lanes which shouldn't matter at all unless you plan on doing sli

Dont forget the 6850K has 40 pcie lanes over the 28 on the 6800K, thats why its so much more expensive

I might also be using my desktop (that I'm planning on building later on) for VM's as well as gaming and possibly quite a bit of recording.

So if I wanted to have a Optical drive, 2 SSDs (for Raid 0), 2 HDDs (for Raid1) and a graphics card (maybe 2 with SLI) for a future build,  would the 6800k should be ok right?

I'm not too familiar with the PCI-E lane stuff.
