A German company just got a record breaking wireless speed of 100Gbit/s over 20m and a 40GBit/s over 1KM

the 100GBit/s was not to/from the internet but between 2 pc's

Sadly it won't. 802.11ad is expected to be out in 2014 and that supports up to 7Gbps over wireless though (on the 60GHz band).

Not really impressive if you compare it to optical technology.

They were able to tranfer 400GBit/s over 12,000 km with fibre optics.
