Just downloaded a mod inside of a compressed winrar folder. It had the mod file (like normally) and then it had a .nfo file (which winrar labeled as system information or something). Knowing my luck, I googled .nfo and the first thing that came up was malware. I havn't opened, nor extracted anything from the compressed folder. Am I safe?

.nfo files are usually text files that the author of whatever the other files for giving credit.

The only reason why it probably came up on security sites is because they're often distributed with cracks, and cracks can come with malware.
