In theory the 1060 laptop should be a better option. It looks good but I cannot comment on the quality of the cooling solution in that specific case

Hi, I have a problem choosing a laptop for school use and Gaming.

I recently moved and I had to sell my Desktop computer which was built by me and had a good enough Graphics card for gaming, so I would really like to continue that experience as much a as possible with a laptop and since I'm will be moving real soon again, building another Desktop computer isn't a option.

I have 3 options which may seem a little different, but what I'm looking for is the best value for the components that each one has. Is it really worth to pay more?

The firtvand the second opinions are RoG laptops and the third its Alienware, my main concern is whether to choose RoG or Alienware, and my second question (in case RoG is better), which one has the best value (A or B).

It would be great if you guys give me a hand.

Option A:

Option B:

Option C:

Get the one with a 980M. It's a lot more powerful than a 970M

ROG is a lot better than Alienware. Alienware used to lead the market until they began overpricing and lowering their quality.

The second link is also broken.

It really depends on what you want. If you can find an ROG with a 1060 it'll be better than the 980M version and will be cheaper most likely.

1060 laptops are more expensive and run hotter.

Not really, it also depends on where you buy. MSI sells a 1060 laptop for $1600 *In the US at least* which is less than a lot of 980M laptops.

Which one? Their overheating GS43 or their overheating GS63?

Oh, that piece of shit, I thought they were just joking about making it. Yeah, that is certainly going to melt itself. It has 2 tiny heatsinks and 2 40mm fans. No way in hell it can cool a 1060.

Ah What bout the Asus 1060 laptop line?

what model, I think that they have made more than one model with a 1060, but a lot of 1060 laptops has heat problems, Clevo has models that can cool the 1060 chip well, but they are still hotter than maxwell.

They've mainly made their Strix models with 1060's, their thin line. Not sure about other models tho, haven't looked too much into laptops.

the GL702VM hell no, that thing is hot, the  G752VM should be okay with a 1060. If a laptop had a 970m and ran at lets say 84c, then with a 1060 the temps will be 92c and up, you can almost always add 10c or so, if they have changed the cooling system, then you cannot add 10c

GL502VM runs hot (1060). GL502VT (970M) is fine
