I am just curious if individuals would like to talk about investments. Maybe we can make this a long-term thread discussing the market or specific companies.

I am young, not formally educated on the subject, so forgive me, but I have absorbed several sources of information and learned the basics, I believe. I almost never hold stocks for less than 3 months, as I do not have tens of thousands of dollars to invest in several different areas, but I usually have a conservative return of 10%. Usually, I invest and let it sit for over half a year. I have conversed with older gentlemen who are passionate about investing. Some of them pay someone to handle their investments, the majority tell me to start learning for myself and never consider paying someone to make me money with my own money. It is something that is very obtainable and understandable with experience. Although, it appears those who are extremely blessed finically tend to favor investing in currency rather than a public company. I am not in that position, though. Research, research, research, buy low, patience, patience, patience, sell high.

Which firm do you trade with? (TD Ameritrade, E TRADE, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, ect) Which broker/resource do you enjoy using for research?

I used to trade through my Fathers account, TD Ameritrade, but since then I have opened my own account with Fidelity.

Anyway, to start the thread.

AAPL: I would like to talk about the classic Apple, APPL. This monday, Labor Day, the market was closed. I believe that tomorrow, despite the whole EU tax 'ruling', AAPL will go up. Maybe not a full point like it did Friday, but I think people will be buying in anticipation of the new iPhone. After all, everyone knows that everyone and their mother will buy the new iPhone, no matter what. Additionally, the iPhone is basically responsible for 50% of Apple’s revenue. They should be announcing the next iPhone, iPhone 7 and 7 plus, soon, this week of 9/5.

EXR: Secondly, I would like to discuss a stock I am currently researching. EXR, extra space storage. I think they will go up a lot very soon, potentially, they are already beginning their trend, but I am skeptical. Last christmas I was very interested in this stock, but I deemed it as too safe, lacking an attractive ROI. Essentially, they acquire large self-contained storage units. They had very good fundamentals and their business formula is philosophically sound. Unfortunately, mid January 2016, their super consitent, ultra predictable trend shattered. Mid January, their estimates went sketchy, and their actuals were even more frightening, all of a sudden. This began a roller coaster up and down ride since then of which, I believe we are currently at the bottom of a crest. I believe if they were to go up, the upward trend would be extended, creating a more prolonged trend, as this time of year they typically do better. In conclusion, I think they will go up from 81ish and slowly pass 100/share and split, but I could be wrong, or my timing could be off. Just a thought.
