Currently clocked @ 4.4Ghz

I've heard that it can go much higher, the only issue is that I cannot find the voltage dial in my bios, which is an Asus one that comes with the Z-170 series.

Any tips on how to change the voltage settings or OC without boosting the voltage?

Complete build is here

In the BIOS it looks like Core Voltage or Vcore.

You may have to set the overclocking to "advanced" mode.

I was in advanded mode, there was nothing except set between auto and manual, under manual there were no tweaks that I saw in regards directly to the core's voltage. There was ram voltage and a couple others, but nothing directly stating it changes core voltage.

Thank you.

Under AI Tweaker if you scroll down until you see CPU Core/Cache Voltage.

I have the Asus Z170-A as well. The core voltage setting is under the Advanced > AI Tweaker section. Once you set it to manual, there should be a field that allows you to type in a value. I can't remember the absolute specifics without rebooting my system, but I know it's there because I've used it myself.

You need to increase voltage to overclock, but it should be easy to find the voltage slider. If you look around under the place you use to change your clock you should find it. I personally have tried overclocking but I don't use it often as my 6700k can handle what I usually do without breaking a sweat.

Now, the only way for me to change any core voltage settings is with AI Suite 3 from the Asus website, I was unable to find the tweaker, though I will go and look again, thanks for confirming!

No… if you go to the Advanced Mode in your BIOS, there is a series of tabs along the top. One is "AI Tweaker." You don't have to use any software in the OS. AI Suite is just for automated overclocking.

Apologies for the image storm to follow:

The option you're looking for is below the CPU core clock settings. Once you change the core voltage from Auto to Manual, there will be a field where you can then type in a value.

^^^ Here they have the core voltage set to Adaptive rather than Manual, but it's in the same drop-down menu. Adaptive is actually what I use instead, as it allows the core voltage to scale down when the CPU is under light loads. Manual will force a solid 1.3+ V all day. In that case just set the "Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage" to the max you want it to hit at the CPU's max frequency.
