I get internet for my gaming rig off of a netgear extender. all I have connected to it is my desktop (wired through Ethernet) and my iphone.

If i do a speed test on my phone i can easily get around 10 mbps but when i do the speed test for my PC, i struggle to get 3 mbps (and sometimes not even working at all). I have tried using my moms laptop through Ethernet as well and it came in at around 8 mbps and disabled wifi on the extender to make sure its putting my desktop first. I have also scanned my PC for viruses with mcafee and found nothing.

why am i getting such a difference and why is it worse on my PC connected through Ethernet. any help would be greatly appreciated

That isn't Ethernet. Ethernet is when you are directly connected to your router, which you are not.  You are connected to an extender. I had that extender, and its god awful. I finally got a wifi card and it was much better then that thing.

And you are showing your ip in that picture by the way.

I know its a bad extender, i am waiting on a few things before i can get actual Ethernet (running cables through the walls). but that will take about a month or so, so there is no point going out to buy a wireless adapter. then again maybe there is because the internet is so bad, but I dont want to buy one unless im sure there is nothing else i can do. is it a problem with the extender or with my computer? (thanks for the heads up about the ip, didn't notice it)
