First, before I go on, I'm sorry if I'm posting in wrong area.

Now, I'm a newbie computer builder. I Started about 4-5 months ago when my friends step-dad gave me his 10 year old gaming computer. I knew I wasn't going to be able to use it, but it sparked my interest into building a computer. So I went on YouTube and found Linus Tech Tips and it helped me build my first and personal gaming rig. But it keeps crashing on me. I'm not really sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated!

My Rig:

CPU: Intel i5-4590

GPU: GTX 960

Motherboard: Z97 PC Mate

If you need any more info, don't hesitate to ask! Again, Thanks!

Can you give us a description as to what you're doing before it crashes? Are you playing a game or browsing the internet? Does it always crash when doing a specific task or does it seem to do it at random? Have you recently made any hardware or software changes? We need more details before we're able to try to narrow down the issue and provide a possible solution.

We need more info on the crashes. What were you doing when it crashes? Any new hardware that you've installed or even hardware that you've changed? Has it always been prone to crashing or is this new? Have you installed any new software? Is the PC just shutting down, blue screening or crashing to the desktop?

It only crashes when I play games on it. It just black screens and the sounds from the headphones gets weird. I have to manually restart it with the restart button on my case. All of the parts are new.

Try seeing if your graphics card drives are up to date.

Open NVIDIA Geforce experience, if there's a driver update available it should start automatically.

I just updated it yesterday.

Is the entire computer crashing, or just the game? You mentioned that you had to manually restart your PC with the restart switch. If you're able to do that, that means the PC is still on.
