xeon or i5

im confused on what cpu to buy for my server. I looked a xeon that had very similar price and specs to the i5 6600k but i dont know if one is better than the other.

Go for the i5 6600k if you have a z170 motherboafd so that you can overclock it, if not, go for a c326( or something like that) chipset motherboard

Since it's the 6600k he's comparing it to, I think it's it Skylake Equivalent.

A 6600k is better unless you need ecc support.
