Did I break something?

I was just looking in the bios of my mobo( fatality h170 performance) and saw ultra fast boot, I was curious so I enabled it so see what would happen. It wasn't good. Now when I turn on the PC I am greeted by the "press f2 for bios" and all that, but that's all. It's just stuck there forever. Plz help. 6600k, 4x4 hyper x ddr4, 2x gtx 770

Reset your BIOS

to do this pull the CMOS battery, which is a round silver battery somewhere on your motherboard

Clear CMOS. Should be 2 pins labelled CMOS somewhere. Either use a jumper or a screwdriver to short it

You didn't break anything, don't worry. "Fast Boot" is designed to skip some of the booting process by ignoring some of the hardware initialization and usually not giving you enough time to spam your key to get into BIOS. It makes booting faster, especially on slower machines like laptops. You can either reset it through removing the battery as others have pointed out, or your motherboard might even have a reset button. Lastly, some motherboard manufacturers will have software that runs on Windows that will let you turn it on or off.

why don't you just press F2 for BIOS and disable the FastBoot ??

because it freazes on that screen, but its all fixed now

Much of the time FastBoot won't allow you to get into the BIOS, even if you see the message on the screen.

Thanks guys, ltt forum helping since 2009, all working now, but i dropped a screw and it disapeared
