Minecraft only 60 fps

I have an i5-6600k and a Gtx 970 with 6Gb of ram dedicated, I have the FPS set to unlimited, and it never goes above 60 fps and never below 59, but I want it to be higher (using optifine and no other mods) Any ideas?

Maybe you have v-sync on in the nvidia control panel? (Not sure if that's a thing, I have an AMD gpu)

Maybe there's an option to match your FPS to your monitor that's turned on.

Do you have vsync turned on in game? You can set the framerate to unlimited but if you still have vsync turned on within minecraft you won't get anything over.

Vsync is turned off, any others

What about driver's vsync configuration? Though if your monitor has a vsync frequency of 60 Hz having a higher framerate won't make any difference

I never use vsync, I know.
