Thanks! :)

Btw i couldn't find benchmarks so i asked it here! :)

8350 + 7970 I would get 80, so no less than 70. Should be good. Dips to 55 in heavy areas.

Well with my overclocked MSI 7950 at 1100/1500 I get 70-110fps with my 3570k@4.3Ghz, you shouldn't be getting any less than that honestly if you overclock your 7950 to the same speeds. Which you should be able to do as that isn't a very high OC as I lost the lottery on my card unfortunately.

A 7950 will max it out with 70-80fps @1080p.

Flash the 7950 to a 7970 to get even more frames.

Is it really that hard to type your question on google and look at some benchmarks in just a few seconds? People need to stop posting threads like these...

Couldn't find benchmarks? Is that a joke or what?

No don't do this.......stupid advice

Just match or get near as possible to 7970 frequencies using MSI afterburner or what ever overclocking program you use

Not stupid, you do get more performance from this but if you've never done it before it would be risky. But your advice is good also.

All it does is overclock the card and lock it as the default settings, sure it may tweak the memory timings slightly, But the performance gain is none existent, all the performance gain is from overclocking the frequencies. as a bios update will not unlock extra the shaders the 7970 has.

Plus if you card does not have a dual bios to fall back on, it is a very silly and stupid thing to try when the same can be achieved safely using a proven overclocking method like MSI afterburner.

So in my opinion, giving someone advice that has a risk of bricking their hardware falls into the "stupid" advice bracket  category when there is a much safer option to achieve effectively the same thing....

Nothing personal.

Are you sure you are not thinking about the 6900 Series? I haven't seen a 7950 unlock it shaders to become a 7970.

 A 7970 is only 5-8% faster than a 7950 per clock. 7950 @ 1000Mhz = 7970 @ 925Mhz - so there is very little reason to do so, even if you could.

5820K - ASUS X99-A - 16GB Corsair LPX - HD 7970 GHz - Qnix 1440p @ 96Hz - Waiting for Polaris/Pascal

I am aware that the shaders can;t be unlocked since they lasered to the gpu. But unlocking is possible by flashing the bios on the board. The performance difference isn't really significant but if you going for each and every single frame, why not.
