Please Help

Today i finally got money for 'new' cpu,so i decided to do on craigslist and find one.I found amd phenom x4 955 Black Edition 125 w.The problem is,on mobo cpu support list 955 that is 95 w is supported with f6 bios update.And the cpu i found is 125 w and its listed as N/A.Guys please help,i really need help!Will it work?

Why would you buy such an undermining and ancient cpu? So the motherboard doesnt support it, which means you should look for another one.

damn thats one hell of an old board (AM2 , not even AM2+ or AM3 ), it will NOT support the 955be , try getting your hand on an decend board , i actually have an M4A97 DELUXE and a 940BE here that i recently retired 

 

what is your current system made of? 

 

Edit :  yea the board is actually AM3 but only a Low power board (95w tdp max) putting a 125 on there will end in smoke and tears

the board won't deliver enough power to the 125watt cpu. don't buy the 125watt cpu.

What if i told you that ancient cpu is 90 euros here(used !!!) ,anything new and desent is 150 euros+ and i would have to change mobo ram...everything pretty much

Will phenom x4 840 work,and what do you guys think about it in comparison to 955,specs wise its only that 955 has 6mb cache and this has none.What  Is cache important for?

trust me , until recently Phenom 2 X4´s where in the 90´s here aswell , amd used market is NUTS , used intel tho ...  thanks Tik tok and the floood of new cpus each other year  (haswell is cheap)
