Upgrading to 1440p

BigChimp97

Hi guys

So i finally want to make the jump from 1080p upto 1440p. Ive been looking around at different monitors that are 27"and i have two that i am very interested in, the Samsung S27D850D and the ASUS PB278QR. If anyone has any experience with either monitor then could you please let me know your what you think about it. Also i noticed that one is IPS and one is PLS could someone please tell me then difference between them? Ive looked around and only found that one is LG and the other is Samsung technology. Thanks guys!! If there are any other monitors that are IPS that you would recommend that are in the same price range then please reply!!

Thanks!

My AOC monitor uses the same Samsung PLS panel as the Asus - its a great monitor, I do all my gaming and editing on it! I love it

check out tft central reviews (mine is the Q2770PQU, same panel as the asus but that has a review up there I think too)

Ah cool! Would you say that the PLS panel is more like a TN or an IPS?

I'll have to have a little look at those reviews then thanks :)

PLS is a form of IPS

After having my IPS i would never go back to TN its horrific ahha. Aslong as the colours are great and the blacks are actually black and not a shade of grey then all is well

After looking around, i've actually decided that the Dell U2515H looks like a pretty good monitor and i'll probably get that model instead.
