I'm planning to OC my AMD CPU. What should I do before the procedure to minimize damage on my processor and maximize success (other than after market cooler)?

I'm planning to use AMD Overdrive because my BIOS doesn't seem to have a overclocking function.

While in the BIOS, should I disable/enable things?

As of now, my CPU can reach up to 4GHz (only ~1 core using AMDs Turbo feature thing). I aim for at least 3.8 GHz for all cores. 4GHz would be amazing. 4.5 would make me cry.

ASUS A55BM

X4 750k (3.5GHz - 4GHz)

Hyper T2 Cooler

EVGA 600W +80 Bronze

1x8GB DDR3-1600 Crucial RAM

Make sure all drivers are up to date.
