ram mixing

i have a ram and i want to buy a new one but my old is 8gb and the one i want is 16gb but they are EXACLY the same models but diferent size.

Should be fine the only time ram mixing is really only a problem if the voltage differs or if the timings are not very flexible/similar (assuming we are just talking consumer grade), but keep in mind it will not run in dual channel (not that that matters much)

just for me to know if i have the 8 gb and put 2 same 16 will it work dual chanel and use the 8 for space only
