Stanford Folding@home PC Build

Good afternoon all, I have recently come across Folding@Home which from what I can put together is a cloud computing ecosystem which was put together by a group of computer engineers at Stanford. But my question to all of you is what would be the best PC build for a task as this. There is no budget, i was debating on server grade hardware mixed with a couple titan X GPU's. I think this would be using the same concept as bit coin mining, but a little different. I got the idea from a YouTuber Barnacules. I want to do a fun little project like this. Are you going to use it for folding only or gaming/rendering aswell?

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

Well GPU folding is much better then CPU. The new 1000 series seem to destroy the past 900 series in cryptocurrency mining. If you really don't have a budget I would do what Linus did, get a server in a 3U case and stick 10 Titan XPs in it or however many he had. You would easily get on the World Record charts in a matter of months.

8 xeon e7 8890v4 cpus ($7000 per cpu) for 384 threads total, and throw in a dozen or so Titan Xs ($1000 per card).
