Moving prebuilt pc parts

Go to solution Solved by ha966,

Yes you can. I did it too with a medion/lenovo PC. Make sure to reapply your thermal paste and optionally buy a new CPU cooler because medion's/lenovo is shit

Yeah, usually the case and motherboard are the only parts in prebuilts that can be 'weird' as in non-standard.

And I don't really know enough about CPU cooler to recommend something.. I could go the easy way and say "Hyper 212 EVO", but I honestly dont know how good it really is

Just check that the PSU doesn't have any weird proprietary power connectors, some pre-builts  do. If it does you may need a new PSU, though I'd recommend a new one anyway as they are normally pretty crap.

Just be careful as it might have a custom backplate on the mobo for their cooler which is stuck on with adhesive and is very difficult/tedious to remove.

True. But im buying a new CPU cooler.

Yeah but you have to remove it of the motherboard and you need to use heat and a thin piece of plastic/metal to get it off otherwise you will not be able to install  a new cooler.
