Intel skylake prices?

Go to solution Solved by Fungal,

Wait for kabylake bc skylake prices should be pretty much the same except probably on like ebay

Hey everybody, I am looking to upgrade my cpu, I am on the 1151 socket at the moment. My question is will the price of skylake cpus go down when kaby lake is introduced? Should I wait for kaby lake to come out or should I just get a skylake i5 6500 now?

Cheers people

The price of Haswell CPUs is basically unchanged since Skylake came out. Higher-end i7s actually cost a little more. If you're fine hanging onto the CPU you have now for another several months, wait for Kaby Lake. If you want to upgrade now, don't feel bad about it. Kaby Lake parts will be very expensive for a while after launch, and the gains over Skylake are probably not going to be insane.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
