Hey guys,
A friend of mine asked me to help hem making a new computer. I have made a few computers so far, but still would like to have some feedback if I can make the build better.

The computer would mainly be used to game on one 1920 x 1080p monitor. But some programming and video editing would happen from time to time. He would like to spend a maximum of 1.200-1.300 euro’s on the computer build. So, I made hem this:

What is your guys feedback on this, could I make it any better, or cheaper? Does everything work together?

Edit:
- Changed PSU from 750w to 650w
- Added the keyboard of choice by my friend, this needs to be included in the price range.

Thanks,
Arno.

The power supply could be 600-650W instead, since 750 is too much, especially with such a power saving 1060 and 6600K. Looks good, altough you could try and get a 250GB ssd perhaps? It may just be for the operating system, but he could put in there his priority games/programs for coding, to boost loading times and reduce latency in-game. Overhaul, it looks pretty good. The cooler could be upgraded to an AIO or superior air system, since its a K cpu and would allow him to overclock somewhat in a serious matter when time comes. Also good choice on not getting the 3GB 1060...

Thanks,

750W is overkill, 500W would be fine for any single GPU setup. Also why an M.2? The one you have selected is SATA so it wont provide any performance difference over a regular SSD. If you want better performance, get an NVME M.2 (These are very expensive though).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Thanks for the feedback, I changed the PSU to a 650w. I forgot to mention that he might add a second card in the future. Will 650w still be enough if he goes SLI with the GPU’s?

As motioned above, will the 650w be enough for SLI in de future? Also, to be honest SSD/HDD and everything around it is not my strongest suit. I own the same SSD in my system and I’m happy about it. Could you suggest anything if you think it would be better (and fit in the price range). Thanks.

For that money he can get lot more

The 1.200 – 1.300 euro price range is the maximum he would like to spend. So the less the better, keeping in mind he is just gaming on a 1080p monitor I think a gtx 1070 would be a bit overkill for it. You can always make a suggestion? Would like to hear it, Thad’s the reason in posted this here to fix my mistakes on the build.

Also, made some changes to my main post:

Hmm, yeah it should work fine, as long as he doesnt plan to overclock the cards or the cpu, to keep things running on the edge. An efficient power supply is necessary to have tough, but that one should still suffice.

He could get a 2nd hand 980 Ti for sure tough... but yeah, used parts are 50/50, thus most people, including myself dont like to gamble with things like computer parts.

What’s new and why:

-          Changed the CPU cooler to what I heard is allot better for only a little bit more money.

-          Added faster ram (from 2.133 to 2.400)

-          Changed the SSD to 275gb instead of the 120 and made it m.2 (also added 2tb HDD instead of 1tb)

-          Made the case to the newer generation define R5

-          Changed the PSU to 500W

hoping to get some new feedback on this. than i will order

Thanks,
Arno.
