hello, (sry im german so my english is not that great, i am useing msi afterburner)

I bought an msi gtx 1060 gaming x about a month ago and i want to overclock it because i heard it is a good overclocker and i hit 2062 mghz on core and 4550 mghz on the memory and I woud like to adjust the core voltage but that wasnt possible for me. And trust me i have tried everything (I tried to allow it in settings, dosent work. I tried to enable unofficial overclocking mode in the afterburner txt , and some other ways but nothing worked at all)

So here is my question i read a forum post on a german forum where someone said it could be that the gtx 1060 is locked or something like that so is it possible in any way to unlock it? with an custom bios or something like that?

I thank you for your answer :)

Don't mess with custom BIOSes on GPUs, you risk bricking it.

And the GTX1000 series is very power efficient, you will usually get little or no improvement from throwing more power at it.

2000-2100 is the limit for most GPUs already, so I would just leave it at that.

ok thanks m8 but is this with every 1060 or is it only mine?

all, the voltage is hard capped and you can't increase it, even the cards that are reaching 2100 mhz aren't using all the voltage available to them as the card simply doesn't need it.
