which cpu for development

I am getting ready to build a new computer to use for general day to day tasks and for development work.  Any recommendations?

I am looking at an i5 6600k or and i7 6700k

I do Java development, quite a bit with nodejs, Python and a little php. I need to be able to run some virtual environments and different application servers.

You could probabbly do that just gine with an i3, but if it can use four threads go for an i5, if it can use more then 4 go for the i7, if this is for professional work you might want to consider a locked cpu because overclocking can cause system instabilities, and crashes ruining whatever you were working on.
