I'm 17 and have a part time job -

This is only the second time building a PC and my first one although i was able to get it going with some help there were many problems as a first time builder that nearly stopped me from building again and i was close to buying a pre-built this time but i know i'd be loosing out on money and performance. Now i've saved up more money (3x my first build*) i want to make sure im getting it right with parts this time, so my questions this time around are.

Do i need to flash the bios on my motherboard?

Are all my parts compatible ( i know pcpartpicker says they're so)

Are there anything you would change & why?

Build link - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/GXY9r7

All help is grately appreciated as i'm planning to order everything in a few hours, thanks

Which one would you suggest? i chose it cos it was all black

Considering you're getting a 1070 I would say go for a 6600k since in quite a few titles a 6500 will probably bottleneck a 1070.

Youre only paying £30 more and you're getting potentially around a 30-40% performance uplift (if you plan on overclocking).

Just curious, what's your budget?

I had the 6600k chosen originally but seeing as i didn't want to overclock i would rather save the £30 towards something else, my budget is like £1100

So you don't plan on overclocking?

If you don't want to overclock though a 1070 might be a slight waste, since something like a 6500 will probably bottleneck it quite a bit. If you decide not to overclock you could go h170 mobo instead.

But what h170, they seem to be the same price anyway

Man lga 1151 mobo prices are messed up 0_0.

I guess h170 isn't a good choice then. Ya might as well stick with z170.

I still think a 6600k is a much better option, just because you could potentially get around a 30-40% performance jump by only paying 3% more, but if you really don't wanna overclock I'm not one to make the choice for you.

If just thought of something though. Even if you don't want to OC right now you might as well just get a 6600k anyways since for an extra 3% relative to your system you get a 8-10% jump in frequency. Even if you don't OC you'll benefit and in the future if you really start seeing a CPU bottleneck you could OC and get the benefits.

On a side note, what games do you plan on playing with this system?
