Windows 10 Anniversary Performance Issues

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

FIX: I did a fresh reset

So I recently posted in the PC Gaming section about performance issues in overwatch. I soon realised that this is actually an issues with the anniversary update. Here's the original post:

Quote

Here we go,

1. High CPU Usage

2. Slows PC

3. Turning on Vsync partly helps, but nobody likes it

4. Used to get 80+ FPS on epic settings, now I get drops into 20s and sometimes get consistent 40 (ish) FPS for a good 3 games.

HELP!! Drivers are up to date

I have an R9 390 with a Xeon E3 1231 v3. 8gb of ram and an MSI B85 G43 Gaming

So there you go. Last night I had a couple of tabs open in chrome and a couple of cmd windows open where windows near enough froze, but it didn't (because I'm patient enough to wait for it to respond). So is anyone else having any issues. I'm finding it lagging up everything, mouse slowing down and stuff like that.

Besides reinstalling windows or reverting the update and then blocking it (either through reg edits or firewall settings) I don't really have a fix for you, numerous people have had a wide variety of issues, some minor and some more major like yours (memory leaks for example) but the only fixes are the ones I've already stated, so far anyway.

Yeah I ran through a disk cleanup, so I cant revert and I'm not reinstalling

Well then your only hope is that windows releases a fix, though I doubt it will happen in a timely manner if at all.

Yeah 60% of my 16 gb is eaten if i leave my computer on too long

Is that just sitting at idle? My desktop don't seem to be having any issues on Anniversary update, however I tried forcing the install on my laptop and ended up having to reinstall and then still it wasn't working well. My other laptop hasn't got a roll out for it yet and after the way the other turned out I'm not thinking of forcing it.
