So I was watching a video (I think JayzTwoCents) and was talking about thermal grease on the GPU and how its ok to put extra because its not a big deal if it runs out a bit, etc etc. And mentioned that most Thermal Grease is non conductive these days or something along those line, and I think he might have mentioned he was using Artic Silver 5, but then on Artic Silver 5 tube or packaging or something  (cant remember exactly where I read it) it had a Conductivity Rating. So ok I assume that it is obviously conductive hence why we use it, and im sure when people say non conductive they are talking about "Electrically Conductive", but is there a way to tell if you did happen to get a electrically conductive paste? He just kinda scared me when he said "MOST thermal grease is non conductive" lol. Basically I am switching from Artic Silver 5 to Phobya HeGrease Extreme and states right on the listing 'Thermal Conductivity: 8.5 W/mK' which again im assuming means non electrically, but it just reminded me of this question, so I would still like to know what to look out for.

Thanks,

Rich

Artic silver 5 is rated as Non-conductive in terms of electricity but slight capacitive so it's not recommend to put on contacts or places where it can bridge a connection. Some good alternative are MX-4, thermal Grizzly and Gelid Extreme which are all Non-conductive, electrically.

Thermal conductivity is the rate at which the heat can be transferred through the paste, hence the word thermal. Most any name brand is not electrically conductive, but ALL thermal paste IS thermally conductive.

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.
