Mobo/Gpu compatability?

I need to update my gpu ( ASUS EAH5450 512mb) to run Gone Home, and I was looking at a really cheap card like a gtx 710 2gb or 730 2gb. But my friend's tried to run a 750 ti on my motherboard to troubleshoot his system and we couldn't get it to post. Will either of the GPUs I'm looking at actually work with an h-ig41-uatx motherboard or not?

i bet u have low wats PSU  and i bet the 750 ti wants 6pin atleast soooooo u sure u have atleast 450-500 wats psu?

Yes either should work with that motherboard, as mentioned however you'll need a psu that will support them if they need additional connections. A 750 ti should work as well maybe your friends was having trouble?

When we set his up in my pc we used his psu instead of mine but would a 730 draw anymore than the card I have atm?

A (gt?) 730 should be about the same or a little less than a HD 5450 I think. Hard to find good numbers on the 5450.
