Hello! I wanna start by saying this is my first post so forgive me for any errors. My name is Stephen and I have been planning a build for a few months now. I'm not really "new" to pc building but I'm definitely no expert. My first build died on me a few months ago due to random blue screening errors that got progressively worse and worse and instead of putting more money into a fairly old build I figured why not do a build how I originally wanted to. Now my budget is $7,000.00. I will be using this system for gaming/streaming and whatever else I decide to do with it. I do want a fairly high end build. At least something that I won't have to worry about upgrading for a decent amount of time as well as the best performance possible (money isn't really an issue). That being said here is the build I have come up with.

Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler

Asus Rampage V Edition 10 EATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Samsung 950 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive

Samsung 850 Pro Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB CLASSIFIED GAMING ACX 3.0 Video Card (2-Way SLI)

Corsair 750D Airflow Edition ATX Full Tower Case

EVGA SuperNOVA T2 1000W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit

My first build I definitely had to skimp on due to money issues but don't currently have that problem. I am going with a black and red/blood themed build. Two of the major parts I'm concerned with are the case as well as the motherboard. I know X99 has it's issues. I just want something top of the line with the best possible performance. Water cooling is also something I am open to. I was originally going to do that but couldn't figure out a good quality loop for both my cpu and gpu that stayed within my price range. Also chose against the custom loop due to the fact I will be having a spinal fusion in the near future and won't have the income to replace a part if something happens ( I don't know how warranties work for that sort of thing). Any recommendations or tips are greatly appreciated. I just wanted to get a second opinion before I start buying the parts. Again, I'm trying to get the best possible performance I can for around $7,000.00 (I am in Colorado btw).

Thank you! -Stephen

Edit- I had a 750d case on my last build and really wasn't impressed with the quality and looks of the build. I was going to get a CaseLabs SM8 but they don't seem to be accepting custom orders at the moment.

Edit 2- I would be using 2 monitors for this pc (Benq xl2411z and my current Asus vg248qe). I couldn't really find any high end monitors that had a decent price and good reviews. Would also be using a DuckyShine 5, Zowie FK1, Astro A40s and a Logitech C920 webcam.

At this point, why not go broadwell-e

I was considering that but from all of the articles I read they weren't very impressed with the performance of the new broadwell chips. Do they have major improvements over haswell?

They have about 5-10% better single core performance in some cases.

And at this budget, I don't see a reason to go with an older generation.

And why get a 1080p monitor with 2 1080's? I would get this or this

Not sure if I'm willing to spend 1k on a monitor at the moment haha. Would rather get my pc built then get all of that stuff later on when I can. The swift monitors also seemed to have pretty varied quality control from what I read. Do you have one yourself?

bu

but here is a roughly $2000 pc that I think would make more sense

Yeah $2000 was the budget on my last build and I wasn't very happy with what I could get at the time. My goal is to be able to stream/record games such as BF1 at max settings and still get good frames. Looks and performance/cooling are more important to me than money atm.

And if you wont be doing video rendering or other stuff that uses a lot of cores, then you could also just go with a 6700K. It will perform a bit better in gaming.

I'm not sure if I will be or not. I kind of like having the opportunity to do whatever I want with it. That's why I was thinking X99. Also X99 seems better for "future proofing" in a sense. I don't know haha.

No, I don't have one myself. But GTX 1080 SLI is way overkill for 1080p.

Yeah I get that. The issue I have with those really high end monitors however is a lot of them are 5ms respond time and 100hz. And me being a highly competitive gamer, that doesn't really help me much.

You wont notice the difference between 1ms and 5 ms. The ROG monitor is 165 Hz and 4 ms I believe.

Hmmm I'll have to look into that. My biggest issue with that monitor was the reviews. I guess a lot of people had issues with dead pixels and monitors arriving broken.
