Cant install NVIDIA driver at all

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

Solved.

Issue is that any Pascal GPU is unable to install drivers on Windows 10 version lesser than v1511.

My friend just builded his new PC and there is fresh windows and he is UNABLE to install NVIDIA Driver. The installation always fails or he gets "unknown error has occured" error or it says that the driver is not compatible with the version of Windows. He tried to reinstall Windows 2 another times but we still cant figure out what is going on.

Yes, he is installing the correct x64 bit driver for the x64 bit of Windows 10.

i5 6600

GTX 1060

2x8GB DDR4

AsRock H110M Combo G

Corsair CX 450M

he is now going to try update BIOS to see if that helps..

Maybe u download the wrong driver.. because it never occur to me or anybody that i know.
has he already installed net framework 4.5 in his pc?

That is not the issue. We may have found the solution but he is in process of installing newer version of Windows 10.

We installed ISO of Windows 10 he had from last year on USB the problem that may be there is that it is not version 1511 of Windows 10 and we just found on NVIDIA forum that "make sure you have Windows version 1511 for Pascal to work".

Have you got your net frameworks all installed and all your windows updates.

Everyone frowns upon it but windows 10 has better luck at pulling the HDD and it actually working in other computes, have you tried doing so, and installing the driver from another PC

You should've made installation media for the newest version of Windows 10 version 1607, you can also get it via Windows Update. But installing it as update will take a while.

Also have you tried a few solutions that do NOT use the nvidia installer, programs like driver pack and windows update

Yes we tried all of this.

Yea... my friend lives in another country so we are troubleshooting on a distance. Would be a lot easier if I could get to him. But we didnt realized he has really old ISO on his USB. So we are trying to update it now and we will see if that helps.
