Good luggage brands?

So I am going to the mall to look for a new luggage set for my trip I'm going on in a few days but have absolutely no idea who makes good luggage.  I personally think hard shell luggage is crap because it seems like one heavy thing on top or one good drop/bump and it would crack.  Anyway does anyone have luggage that has lasted for years and if so what brand?  I don't mind spending more for good quality, long lasting luggage that can take some abuse from the apes who handle luggage at airports.

I have an own brand one from a supermarket. I got it when I was 11 (now 22) and it's been on literally every holiday I've been on.

I don't think it's about the brand, it's about how you treat it. My advice is to make sure you get one with a sturdy handle and zip as those are the first things that will break.

I went out and got a Samsonite set which my brother said was good and it feels sturdy and high quality.

Well I've honestly never seen broken Samsonite stuff. Their stuff is great quality.
