So in my PC I have a i7-4790K (@ stock speeds) with a Hyper 212 Evo (with 2 fans) and my CPU temps are kinda really high. I ran Prime 95 and my second core was at a consistent 100 degrees C. Originally I thought it was because it was 30 degrees C in my room but even when its significantly cooler my CPU still overheats. I know Prime 95 isn't a realistic scenario but I edit a lot of videos on my PC and my CPU reaches 80-90 degrees. It takes a long time (1-2) hours to edit some of the longer video clips and I don't think those temperatures are good for my CPU. I need this computer to last a long time because when I build my next PC in 2018 I will be giving this PC to my friend, who probably will use it for another 3 years. Should I get a better CPU cooler? Do you guys have any suggestions for good CPU coolers?

Check if you forgot to put off this plastic thingy at the bottom of the cpu cooler, and while you at it, reaply thermal paste and test again.

yeah, those temps are quite high even for an overclock. Make sure the cooler is installed properly, it should not move at all. Also, when was the last time you applied new thermal paste? even the best thermal paste will not be effective after a few years
