It may in CPU intensive games. WIll you be upgrading your CPU soon? If you are get the 1060 and put the saved money towards the upgrade (like a 4790).

If you're just aiming for 60+ FPS at 1080p or 1440p, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't do just nicely in most games. It's a pretty good processor for the most part.

 

If you ever plan on doing any sort of SLI in the future with Haswell, though, then you'll need a Z87 or Z97 motherboard, which if you do choose to get one, you may want to get a K-sku processor like the i7-4790K to go along with it (Z87 requires a BIOS update for Devil's Canyon processors).

4790 non-K. You'll be at the max for the chipset and that should last you another 4-6 years at 1080/1440@60hz.
