Nvidia cherry pick gpup?

Go to solution Solved by ARikozuM,

They might cherry pick for their FE cards.

Do they? I don't know.

As far as I know they test each chip to see how it performs and then places it into that family. Prime example being the GM204 where the full chips became the 980 and the lower chips became the 970.

Jayztwocents did a video about the msi 8g gtx 1080 in the video he compares it to a founders edition which had a higher boost clock, he then mentions that he had lost the "silicon lottery" but could nvidia be cherry picking the cores to put in the gpus that are sold from he official nvidia store?

i doubt they're cherry picking their own cards to be the better ones, it'd be much more lucrative to use the best bins to sell to for example evga's kingpin lineup.

he mentioned the silicon lotery, as just having bad luck of the draw with the msi card, not as nvidia giving him a cherrypick.
