It looks good. The T4 might be a tad too small for when you overclock (if you do) and the Kingstons are hit and miss in quality.

I added the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 (you can get the 212 EVO) and a 240GB SSD to give you more room for programs. The price difference was an increase of $5 after rebates.

Make sure to take advantage of Prime/Premier's free trial for 2-day shipping (even on Sunday).

Will do. If you want you can try to make any last minute changes before I send it to my friend to buy.

I think it looks good. Do you have a monitor on hand? And I see that you put the EVGA model in there. I would switch that out since they have bad quality control on that specific line.

Ill just go with the 500B, I'm not a big fan of Corsair's Cx psu's (I'm kind of being a hipocrite by saying that though, my build has a 750m)

Even the older CX PSUs are better than the 500B....

I'd definitely grab the new CX450M. The newer ones are based on the older RM platform and are spectacular, bar the sleeve bearing fan that makes the PSU basically a ticking box for the trash in five years (EVGA has the same problem with the 500B, don't disregard that).

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The 500B. I'd go with STRM here (pretty much has a thing for PSU's).

The ones with a grey label are basically tier 2 PSUs with a sleeve bearing fan to bring them down a tier due to limited lifespan of sleeve-bearing fans when mounted horizontally as most PSUs are.

Check constantly on Amazon/Newegg, maybe even have them notify you on email when it's available. They're restocked on a daily basis.

I just noticed that my friend doesn't know how to overclock or anything, so why pay for a 6600k. Do you approve of the new cpu and mobo if he will not be overclocking? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/KYwPXH

Aside from better performance and the ability to overclock (which he doesn't have to use right now) the price and features make it an appreciable purchase. Also why did the build increase in price?

Overclocking is easy to do and thanks to Pascal a 500W PSU should be plenty for a CPU overclock with a mild GPU overclock. Plenty of users here can guide your friend through the steps.

Yeah but he isn't a techie, so he really doesnt want to oc. And I have no idea how the build increased in price :P

I would use the 4690K with a regular H or B board for the extra clocks if the price between the two (K and non-K) is only a few dollars.

And I think B boards allow simple overclocking but do research on that one.

So you are saying I should switch the 6500 out for a 4690k?

Sorry, wrong chip. Since the price is about the same I'd take the 6600K just to have the extra clocks and ability to overclock since it is only 10 dollars more.

I have a 4690K and I don't have a 24/7 overclock on it but I do have a high overclock profile saved in case I ever need it. K CPU's can be resold for a little higher when compared to locked chips later which can be good for recuperating costs later down the line.

Yeah but on amazon I'm saving $30 on the cpu and around $30 on the mobo which saves a lot of money compared to spending the $60 for something that won't be used. I'm fairly sure the build will never be overclocked because the person I'm building it for is not a techie and just wants to click a few buttons to get to play some games. But you are right about the recuperating costs bit which makes choosing the 6500 a little harder. But overall, it may just be better to save $60 and/or put it towards other upgrades in my opinion. Sorry for the late reply!
