cpu and memory question

hey guys,

 

i`m searching for a cpu which can handle to stream games like csgo and leauge of legends (not games with very high quality textures) and it needs to be affordable.

needs to be in price range of 200-300 max .

about memory my question is ddr3/ddr4 i can get 8gb of ddr4 for 30 bucks same ass ddr3 but i have 8gb of ddr3 still in my pc so when i upgrade should i just get 16gb of ddr4 or ddr3 8gb xtra.

What are your specs now?

Some CPUs support DDR3 ONLY and some support DDR4 ONLY. so your RAM choice will be dictated by what CPU you choose.

in general, any 200-300$ CPU will be good enough. I would suggest an i5 processor from skylake if you want to buy new DDR4, or from broadwell if you want to reuse your DDR3.

if you want to use the ddr3 buy an intel xeon e3 1231v3 for haswell with any consumer mb(z97,h97,b85)

if you want to use ddr4 buy any i5 with an consumer 1xx board

k well my specs are atm:

 

AMD A10-7850k apu 

8gb ddr3 memory

and an geforce gtx 960 4gb

no idea what mobo

yeah i forgot to tell that i`m upgrading mobo and proccesor cuzz the processor slot is fx2 something

and i can`t upgrade in that

and mobo upgrade i think i`m getting a mobo with the slots i need and then its good i`m not getting a special 'gamer'

A 7850k should be MORE than enough to max out CSGO/LoL at 1080p 60fps. Why do you want to upgrade? What other games are you playing? Is anything overclocked?

i still want to be able to max out my geforce gtx 960 so i can play other games but i mean csgo and lol on stream on one cpu

Well, you will need to replace your motherboard to get a better CPU. now it's up to you to decide if you want a skylake CPU (which is better) and buy all DDR4 RAM, or a Broadwell CPU, (slightly worse) with DDR3 RAM.

 

I recommend you spend 30$ extra for better RAM and Skylake, and I would recommend the i5-6600K if you want the best i5, and something else if you want to spend a little less.

But what specific games do you play and what kind of performance are you getting? A 7850k should be able to mostly keep up with a 960 in most games -- to the point where it would be stupid to upgrade for a slight performance boost.

well i play heavy modpacks sometimes on mc (yeah it doesnt actualy use my gpu)

then i play csgo, lol and i`m gonna play different games in the future ( i have some in eye and they are high res)
