windows 10 Windows 10 verification

I received a basic office computer a while back and it had windows 7 installed all verified and working fine, after the windows 10 was released, I upgrade to that and now it keeps asking me for verification and I can't really do anything on it because I need a code which I don't have. Windows was previously verified and now it's not. If anyone can help, that would be great, thanks!

Does the case have a Microsoft COA on it (serial number) ? If it doesn't then you're stuffed i'm afraid and you will need to go and buy a W10 key. Put it down to a lesson in backups!

if you completely lost your key then the only thing you can do is buy a new one. However, you don't really HAVE to buy a new key. I've been using a non registered version of windows for almost 10 months now and nothing has happened. I just can't use a lot of the customization features. You can still change your wall paper at least.
