PSU options

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

A 750W is plenty for SLI. The RMx is a good unit.

I am getting my new build together and purchasing parts soon. Looking for advice on what PSU would be best for my build. I would prefer Corsair as I have always had good luck with them in the past, but open to other options. I would prefer to stay under $200USD for the PSU itself.

You could save $200-$340 by getting cheaper parts.

Like a $150 Motherboard

750w EVGA GS/G2, Any SeaSonic or XFX, should spend no more then $120.

And ffs, why Dominator Platinum's, that's like throwing your money at LED motherboards, way extra money for no benefit.

And... The SSD is stupid as well, sorry. Just get a 400+GB M.2 SSD. Don't need to spend $350 on a 400GB SSD when you can get a TB sata one for cheaper.

I really dislike e-peen builds. Make that like you can save $400-$500

Thanks for the info on the EVGA/SeaSonic/XFX - Honestly the parts I chose are more for their specific look. Sure I could build a much cheaper build, but I like how those parts come together - thanks for looking out though!

Again, just looking for PSU options not your opinion on the other parts of the build and feelings about my thought process.

You can still get a sexy build for $400 cheaper, if you want to throw your cash out on things like the Dominator Platniums which cost $1 more to make, go ahead. If you want that PCIE SSD even though M.2 is just as fast, and heck, a 950 Pro is better and or for slightly less speed a 850 Evo.

But if you want to trash out money to have a bigger e-peen, have fun.

That's a lot of money you're wasting there....

There are cheaper versions of that Asus board with all the features you need and there are cheaper PSUs that provide less wattage since you don't really need more. A 750W EVGA G2 is already overkill for one card.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
