Hello fellow builders,

I have the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Acrylic Window Edition case (very satisfied with it). The fans that come with it (1 intake, 1 outtake) are a bit loud for me, even with a custom fan curve (I'd rather have my PC running 2-5 C higher, but being 2-5Db quieter because it's sitting on my desk). So I'm thinking about replacing fans. I saw some corsair fans that come in a double package that cost as much as one Noctua fan. Keep in mind please that I don't want to spend 100 euros on fans. I'm willing to spend 30-40 euros. 50 max.

Front: 3x 120mm OR 2x 140mm

Top:    3x 120mm OR 3x 140mm

Rear:  1x 120mm OR 1x 140mm

I removed the OD cage, and the HDD cage in the "basement", so the only obstacle the fans have to pull through is the front air filter.

I'm also upgrading from a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO to a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3.

Any recommendations on good affordable quiet/silent fans?

Thank you.

It's 50 euros. I know that Noctua is the best, but it's also expensive...

I was thinking something like this:

http://www.e-shop.gr/corsair-air-series-sp120-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-120mm-fan-twin-pack-p-PER.640218

Where it's a twin pack, but I haven't found any reviews about how good or bad they are.

Do you have any cheaper recommendations? I'll keep the noctuas in the back of my head.

Unfortunately the fractal design fans are not available from the store that I am purchasing from (they are a bit more expensive but have no shipping fees etc.)

The webpage is:

(I've been trying to add the link for the fans for the past 5mins, but it won't let me copy paste here.)

If you are looking to reduce noise I would lean towards 140 mm fans, since at any given RPM they will tend to move more air.  And fan speed generally translates to noise level.

The simplest approach would be to add one more fan in the front and then dial down your fan curve a bit more.  After that try adding a top exhaust 140.

Or, splurge on two quiet 140 mm fans and place them both in the front (probably closest to your ears) then move the existing front fan to the top as an exhaust.

I was thinking about replacing the existing 140mm fans with some better ones for now, then adding another 2 later on when I save up money again. Can you recommend me any good fans?

Noctua NF-A14

Fractal Design Venturi HF-14

Phantek F-140XP

Bitfenix Spectre Pro 140

But I'd still keep the two existing fans.  Run slow enough even inexpensive fans get very quiet.

If you are serious about noise reduction do not forget to use dampening  mounting hardware whenever possible.

Personally I've always found it easiest to move the computer chassis further from my ear, but understand that that is not always an option for everyone.

Of course:
i5 6600K cooled by a Hyper 212 EVO (upgrading to a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3)

Sapphire R9 390 OC

(Those are the heat generators but the rest is pretty simple: 16Gb RAM, 1TB HDD, 120 SSD, MSI Z170A Gaming M3 etc. The rest is heat wise irrelevant but is on my profile. I don't know how to add to the end of my replies and at this point I'm too afraid to ask how).

As for the webpage I'm shopping from it is:

Sorry but it won't let me copy paste the fan category.

Is your cooler not performing well enough? You could just replace the fan if you find it too loud. http://www.e-shop.gr/scythe-sy1225sl12l-slip-stream-120mm-case-fan-p-PER.807972

XK2's are good: http://www.e-shop.gr/noiseblocker-blacksilent-fan-xk2-140mm-p-PER.641579

Well the cooler isn't running nor as quiet nor as effective as I was hopping. Also, after a summer job I had some money to spend. I thought about going with an AIO but water in my case kinda scares me. In addition, a silver chunk of metal in an all black-and-red build is kinda mismatching, so I want to switch to something else.

I think I'll just go with 2 Noctua Redux or 2 Silent wings 2 now, and buy another 2 when I have some more spending money...
