Mousepad vs Desk

What is the difference between a legit mousepad (ex: QcK from steelseries) and a wooden desk? Because I've been using my desk as a mouse pad for years now and don't know if it is work it to buy a mouse pad.

If you like it, then keep at it. I myself like as little friction as possible and can't see how a desk top could ever match fine fabric mousepad. Also, I'd imagine a rough enough wood grain would grind your gliders down over time.

The thing is I tried a mouse pad at my friend's house and it felt like the mouse was gliding across the screen (which can be good or bad). It's just that I'm not used to that gliding feeling so I'm worried that I'll pretty much be shit at the games I play (LoL and CS: GO) until I get used to that feeling.

I guess that's just a thing with life. You gotta get used to a lot of new stuff along the way and sometimes take your time doing so. If you have such trouble with this, just wait until you have kids and taxes and prostate problems to worry about. You'll laugh at yourself so hard.

i used to think that but now i got a steelseires qck mouse pad with the collectors edition of diablo 3 so since then i've never gone back once you've adjusted its awesome
