my specs are below should wanting to go 1440p would a 980 be good for 1440p or sli 980 1070 is to much money

1070 is too much $$ but SLI 980s is cheaper? Lol no.  Plus not every game is optimized for SLI setups so you wouldn't get the same performance as a 1070.

already have one can get a used 980 for $250ish

Then maybe if you want the "street cred" of an SLI setup but I would just save up for a 1070.

Almost the same as a 1070 for about the same price if not more so just get a 1070.
