I can't seem to get GeForce Experience to install the latest driver. I just built my PC yesterday and have run a fresh installation of everything. When I ran Geforce it downloaded the driver, but when I go to install it, it says that its not compatible with my version of Windows. I assumed it was because my Windows 10 version wasn't up to date so I checked the Update Center and it was downloading some updates. When I clicked install, nearly all of them failed except for the version update, including one that says Nvidia driver for GTX 1080. I assume that's why its still not working? I can't figure out how to get Windows to try and reinstall the driver. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You need to install the latest version of windows. Press windows key + R, type in msinfo32, and then compare it to the latest version of windows out there right now.

I had the same problem you had. You also need to, before you do the windows +R, is you need to make sure your date and timezone are correct first or you wont get the latest version

Windows 7 latest -   SP1 (windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe)

Windows 8/8.1 latest - Windows 8.1 Update (KB 2919355)

Windows 10 latest - 10.0.10586 Build 10586

You could try downloading the latest driver from http://www.geforce.com/drivers and installing it manually. I don't know why Geforce Experience is having that issue, but you don't have to get your driver through it.

Thank you, I'll try that. I do prefer using Experience, though, so hopefully it'll work soon.

My build is 10.0.10240 Build 10240. What the heck? I thought it was updating. If not in the Update Center, do I get it at the Microsoft site? My date and timezone are correct.

I figured it out. Its a damn upgrade, not an update. Downloaded the tool, I'm now upgrading to the latest Build of Windows 10. Thank you guys for all your help.

very welcome :) when you fresh install, i think the 10240 is default? cause my fresh install is that version, even when running the 10586

Ah, yes. That would make sense. The Windows upgrade tool said it was downloading a 14000 or something. I was spending all morning trying to Google why my drivers were incompatible. You're a life saver! Will update when I get some games going ;)
