Change the "Hide" option on status updates under the "Options" button to "Remove"

becase you cant unhide it

I don't see what difference it would make. Hide is an accurate description of what happens to your status when you click that button (more so, in fact, than remove or delete would be).

Because the status is not removed from the database, it just revokes your permission to view it.

Right, but as a universal type of understanding "delete" is a more common word for these types of things. The word "hidden" can suggest that there is more to it than normal.
