Keep Desktop Open While Playing a Game?

Hello All!

I am a CS:GO player and I have a g602. (Hoping to upgrade mouse soon) I use a macro on my G602 for task view in Windows ALL the time, it's just really convenient. I was wondering if there is a way to keep my desktop open in the background while playing Counter-Strike or any other game because it takes a long time for Windows to bring it up after pressing the task view button. I heard that when one is playing a game, the desktop gets stashed away while you are playing something in non-windowed fullscreen mode. Is there a way to disable this "Feature"? I know that it is supposed to keep performance at it's best but I have a GTX 1070 so it really doesn't matter, at least when playing csgo. Thanks!

If the game has the option for it, run it in borderless mode, essentially it runs it as a window without the bar at the top.

I'm not sure if CS:GO has the option in it, as I found someone on a forum saying you need to:

go into steam, library, find csgo, rclick, options, set launch options, type in "-noborder".

Even if you have the GPU horsepower for it on some games this causes stutter and lag anyways, but its worth a try at least.

Ya but... That takes money... Not that I don't want a dual monitor setup, I will prob do that next for my setup.

you can buy a cheap $50 old dell monitor,

and you have a 1070 why would you not have two monitors, its so helpful,

I really want a second monitor, I will soon have space for it on my desk as I will be moving soon and getting a new desk. I just wanted to solve the issue without spending money. Another monitor is definitely on my list.

you can run cs gpo borderless, and you can just put -borderless in launch options too for any game

Keep in mind that even with a second monitor it will freeze up the game if you tab out, or go into steam's overlay and click outside of the game.

It will be fine as long as opening up task manager and leaving it alone on the second monitor the entire time you are gaming works for you.
