So in my room I only have one Ethernet wall jack. form the wall I run it to a Switch then from there one cable goes around my room to my PC and another runs the other way to my TV cabinet and goes into my Xbox one. Now I moved my Xbox 360 to my room. Is it possible to use another network switch to spit the cable going to the xbox one so i have two one for both Xboxs? so basically can i split and already split cable without slowing down speeds?

Thanks!

You can connect from a switch to a switch (to a switch and further), but you might not get maximum speeds out of it.

well you'll only be using one at a time, and i doubt you'd saturate the connection.

Why wouldn't you just run a second cable from the current already in-place switch, bundled w/ the one heading to the TV Cabinet? Then you'll have two cables that you can use, one for the XBO and one for the XB360.

But to answer your question - You can daisy chain switches multiple times with minimal performance loss, as long as your overall network isn't being hammered too hard.

All that it will mean is that your traffic will get aggregated at the switch and limited to the uplink cable's speed (Eg: Two devices, both Gigabit capable, connect to a switch, that connects to your main switch. Both devices individually have a combined bandwidth of 2Gbps, but are limited to a total of 1Gbps due to sharing a single port going back to your other switch). Since most internet connections are significantly slower than 1Gbps, you likely won't have any performance issues with this setup.

Though I would still advise simply running a second cable down to the TV cabinet.
