So I recent got a new motherboard, GPU, and case, and there has been an issue with a noise around the GPU when it is under load. I have tried 2 different graphic cards, but the issue persists. It is a small grinding noise that gets insanely loud when I go into the Valley Benchmark. The noise is probably the worst when Valley is closing. Another note is that the noise reduces when there is no video cable plugged into the GPU.

I can confirm that it is not a cord hitting the fan.

I'd say so. I can get an audio file if you'd like.

Probably coil whine. Sadly, you're stuck with it and there isn't really a way to get rid of it.

Well what GPU is it?

One is a Zotac 1080 AMP and the other is an EVGA 970. the 970 has NEVER had coil whine until today, so I don't think that is the issue. I have not had the chance to test another motherboard yet.

Here is an audio file of the noise, when under load, when closing Valley, and the when idle.

Now that I think about it, it does seem like it may be severe coil whine, but it makes no sense that 2 GPUs that have not had coil whine just now both seem to start having it. Basically the only 3 things I have not swapped out are the CPU, motherboard, and PSU.

It's coil whine.

There is nothing to worry about it, but it's annoying AF!

You can try to RMA it and try your luck again, but I changed 3x GTX 1070 and all of them have coil whine.
