pc stops outputing video randomly

so my monitor displays "no signal" randomly and im not sure what happens. its random and not so random. one point i couldn't open up any games at max resolution without getting "no signal". i had to drop resolution and slowly increase in game to get to work. went away for a while and starts back up at any moment, causing me to have to hold down power button and restart my PC. this also happens when closing games or browsing web or watching movie. its not frequent. maybe once every day or once a week. frustrating. i hooked up to my TV to rule out the monitor. same issue. ive recently reset windows 10 to factory specs due to bad_pool_header or something like that and my PC would not boot and was stuck in boot-loop. i had this issue before and after windows 10 re/install. i dont know the issue. could my GPU be dying? its a 290x. its not that old. maybe 3 yrs? im not a hardcore gamer so it shouldn't have that many hrs on it... any help appreciated

The only thing that comes to my mind is maybe a lose PCI-e slot? Have you tried checking if your card's installed correctly? I doubt the graphics card itself is at fault but can't rule it out.

Did you use the same cable when you connected your rig to the TV? One time I spent whole day trying to figure out way my PC randomly shut down, turned out my AC cable was busted.

OK so try the GPU in a different PC, try updating the GPU drivers and use a different set of cables.

so i may have stumbled upon the issue. silly as it sounds my gpu was underpowered and melted some wires. i had 2 4pin from my psu with adapter to 6pin. upon investigation they were burnt! removed and grabbed a 6 pin to 6 pin so far pc works fine. haha my gpu worked good for a year like this. glad nothing else got ruined
