Lifeproof Fre camera bump

I just got an iphone 5s with a lifeproof fre case for my birthday yesterday. i noticed on the front facing camera there is a little bump  on it. so i took it apart and saw a little tab thingy causing the bump. i dont know if it is something that im suppose to take off or if its just part of the case. if anyone knows what to do about i, please help, thanks!

leave that on it lifts up the screen so it does not touch the sensor.
