Hi all, long time lurker/engineer/gamer/whatever here just looking for some advice from the community

Basically my partner is looking to launch a website/blog of her own in the near future and turned to me for advice, but I know nothing about designing/running a site

Could anyone point me towards a good starting point i.e. the better site builders that offer more a lot of customisation

Ideally I'd love to use squarespace or something similar but as the site isn't going to be generating any income, at least not initially I cannot justify investing in something with no return - not yet anyway.

Any/all suggestions welcome - I'm aware of wordpress/blogger/blogspot and such but I just wanted to see if anyone else had some others to chose from, especially given I have 0 experience, and I'm sure many of you do!

Thanks in advance!

Buy a domain for cheap from like godaddy or google domains, then have it hosted free by 000webhost.com or premium from hosting24.com.

Both have cpanel and a bunch of other things that make it extremely easy to manage/develop a site.

Using apps from cpanel like dolphin or drupal can give you a full setup in like 30 minutes.

Heres a site I setup for fun with dolphin.

Your partner could also use something like Tumblr, that has a lot of customizing too (including with HTML and CSS code, but also through simple ways).

Well of course they didn't, it's mentioned in the community standards (forum rules) which you are expected to read.
