Darkr

Hi,

is there any difference between DP and mini DP? if there is, then what differences? would it be worth buying a DP cable if I already have a mini DP one?

thanks.

No, it's just a different shape connector.

The only actual difference is the size. Mini DP is a smaller version of the normal DP connector.

Size.

They are electrically identical, but made smaller (originally by apple, because their macbooks appareantly couldnt fit the real thing)

Yeah just different sizes for different devices, depends on what you need and if a mini-DP cable will fit xD

Just the size... Both the connectors have the same pin-outs, but the latter was created because the original DP connector is obviously too big for laptops and other portable devices.

Nothing to see here ;)
