I am mainly looking at gaming. I currently Have two monitors, one 1920x1080 and second 1600x1200.

Not sure if this build is up to snuff, I have a budget of $1000. Let me know if there is anything I can improve on without increasing

the budget TOO much.

It would be a good idea to get an SSD. No need to defragment your boot drive and struggle with the slow all the time. You could also get an i5 6500 since you can't overclock your CPU and therefor don't need a k skew chip. This would save you enough money to buy a 120GB SSD.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I am thinking about buying that chip and I would like to know why he can't overclock it. Is it to do with his mother boar of choice?

Yes, the motherboard is an H board, and you cannot OC on that platform. You need a Z board to OC the CPU on.

I wouldn't advise overclocking the cpu with that cooler.

Yes. B and H series boards are not meant for overclocking. You need a Z170 chipset to overclock your board. I would still recommend getting a 6600 non-K or 6500 since you could then afford an SSD as a boot drive.

If u are going to use skylake processor.. buy the z170 mobo instead.
the most least expensive is the MSI Z170 SLI.. its around $120 usd.
and for the graphic card u should consider buying the RX 480 8GB its cheaper and enough for AAA GAMING at max settings at 1080p.

i dont recommend that power supply though.
but if i did recommend u a psu. it will increase the cost.

You wouldn't recommend the G2? But... Why?

Would this mother board be suitable I think it is a z type https://www.amazon.ca/ASRock-Z170M-PRO4S-USB3-0X8-Motherboard/dp/B012D7G26I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471279181&sr=8-1&keywords=asrock+z170

Forgot to mention, I will be taking out my SSD from my  current build to use for this one. It's a 120gig so ill just have the OS on it. the 1TB will just be for storage.

i know that evga is one of the solid psu manufacturer.
but u should look for a review for each product u buy.
and that g2.. eehh the quality of the component inside its not that good but its enough doesnt mean to degrade.
if its enough for you then go get it.

for me psu its no 1 part of the pc that i must concern.
its serious piece of equipment.
your other part life depends on it.
so i choose the best psu that they have to offer.

Tbh the motherboard is more important
