What do you mean by this? My computer already has eSATA in the back? So can I get the adapter?

Then just connect with a cable for best speeds, no point doing any converters or using internal sata

But I would get a better SSD than the one you linked

Hi all,

So I want to buy this https://www.amazon.com/MiniPro-trade-250GB-External-Portable/dp/B0040MFC7U and I want to know if I could actually connect it internally to a real SATA port and get better performance. Is eSATA slower then normal motherboard SATA?

Why would you buy that.. when you can get a better SSD for half the price if its going inside?

$73

eSata is the same as SATA its just external so if you want super fast EXTERNAL storage, eSATA is the way to go

Well keep it outside of your case and get a USB 3 to SATA cable then. That external one's a complete rip off imo.

I edit my posts a lot.

but you are going to connect it internally to your motherboard?

eSATA is the same as SATA its just external for ease of use, so you dont have to open up your PC

id still get the Samsung EVO, and then get an eSATA enclosure

USB 3 and eSATA for $30

its cheaper overall AND you get a better samsung SSD

Will the USB also provide power for the SSD? Also can I also get a SATA to eSATA adapter? Thanks for your response!
